Paper 2 · Section B

Question 1 of 4

Mr Rajan and Faridah want to understand the eligibility requirements related to their existing properties. To be eligible for a Community Care Apartment, they must dispose of their (i)___ within (ii)___ of the completion of the Community Care Apartment purchase, based on the (iii)___.

How to approach an RES case study

  1. 1

    Identify the decision

Ask what advice, eligibility test or transaction outcome the question actually requires.

  2. 2

    Build a fact checklist

Mark dates, ages, citizenship, property ownership, relationships, values and stated intentions before applying a rule.

  3. 3

    Test every option

Do not stop at the first plausible statement. Classify each option against the same facts and current rule.

  4. 4

    Review the source

After committing, compare the explanation with the official-source receipt—not just the answer letter.

Build speed with Section A first

If a rule in the case feels unfamiliar, practise it in a shorter standalone question before returning to scenario-based application.
